Operation

Flash Alerts

Equipment manufacturers all recognize the importance of performing preventive maintenance. Basic maintenance extends the life of equipment and reduces operating costs and down time due to equipment failure. Flash Alert service alarms make it simple to track maintenance needs and be sure that services are performed at the correct time.

Flash Alert service alarms can be tailored to specific applications and up to 3 service alarms can be programmed into SenDEC's NewGen series meters. Some of the messages available include:

Installation

Simply epoxy the rare earth magnet to any motor shaft (the tiny rare earth magnet is only 1/8" diameter and is feather weight). Use an epoxy that bonds to metal. Mount the RPM sensor to a bracket so the nose of the sensor is within 1/4" from the magnet face. Connect the 2 sensor wires to the 2 meter wires and you are done! Polarity of the wires does not matter.

Note 1: This product is tested at the SenDEC factory during and after manufacturing. Therefore, there may be up to one tenth of an hour (0.1) accumulated on the meter because of testing.

Note 2: Handling of the meter wires during hookup may cause the meter to run temporarily (show RPM). This is because of static and will stop after the wires are hooked up, or are no longer handled.
